College Chalktalk’s 2008-09 Coaches’ Diary Series Jon Borovich, University of Dayton

    By CCT Staff | November 19, 2008

Jon BorovichGame One is in the books with Game Two already on the horizon. It was our first of six games in 13 days.

The energy and excitement of the Flyer Faithful and Red Scare provided our guys with the little extra that was needed to finish the game.  Wofford deserves a great deal of credit.  Their stingy defense and motion offense was very good throughout the course of the game. Our guys did a very good job of getting stops down the stretch to secure the victory.

We face a tough opponent in Delaware State this Wednesday at home.  They return 5 of their top 7 scorers from last year’s team and have added a very talented group of newcomers. They historically have been a very good defensive team and so far this season they have been out-rebounding their opponents by 11.5 boards a game.

Our guys had a very spirited practice yesterday.  After watching some film from our game versus Wofford, we hit the floor running, working on some of the areas we felt were vital for our team’s advancement.  The upperclassman set the tone with a very positive attitude and understanding that every day we must get better.  As leaders, their intensity and attention to detail is a great example to the underclassman.  Charles, Kurt, Marcus and London did a very good job of making sure that our underclassman know that you have to go back to work after a hard fought victory.

I want to give a special thanks to the Flyer Faithful and Red Scare (our student section). We had over 12,000 fans in the building on Sunday night and the place was rockin!! The energy in UD Arena was tremendous and we look forward to another great turnout Wednesday night against Delaware State.  It should be another great challenge.

    WE ARE, UD!
