    Dayton continues to fly high. Home wins over LaSalle and Saint Louis pushed the Flyers’ record to 5-0. Detractors could say that the only team the Flyers defeated that owns a record over .500, is Saint Bonaventure. On the half full side, Dayton is a team that spreads you out and hits at a 61% eFG percentage while showing an above average 17% turnover rate. Dayton also leads the A10 in three point field goal defense at 27%. Their two contests this week, at Davidson and home to Richmond will tell us even more regarding Archie Miller’s club.     Temple point guard, Will Cummings, was sidelined with a lower leg strain for a second time Saturday against conference foe, Cincinnati (12-5, 3-2). The Bearcats caught fire early in the second period, converting its first 11 shots enroute to a 84-53 mauling of the Owls (12-7, 3-3). The 6-foot-2 senior sat out on Jan. 10th with the the same injury; witnessed a Temple loss to Tulsa, 56-63. So, what do the Owls miss most with Cummings out?   • Charlotte’s inconsistency linked to turnovers

    Sometimes a single basketball program inside of a conference can define the ebbs and flows of that conference throughout a season.  Charlotte’s 49ers, back in CUSA in the second year of their second run, show that philosophy.  For example, Rice lost a hard-fought 66-63 decision at North Texas last weekend.  Now as those two Texas teams came to Charlotte this weekend, the Niners scored 53 points in the second half on Thursday to pummel the Mean Green, 73-57.  Then, Saturday night, the Owls, who entered the week with an RPI of 337, shaded the 49ers, 73-68 in overtime.
