    Temple point guard, Will Cummings, was sidelined with a lower leg strain for a second time Saturday against conference foe, Cincinnati (12-5, 3-2). The Bearcats caught fire early in the second period, converting its first 11 shots enroute to a 84-53 mauling of the Owls (12-7, 3-3). The 6-foot-2 senior sat out on Jan. 10th with the the same injury; witnessed a Temple loss to Tulsa, 56-63. So, what do the Owls miss most with Cummings out?     Sometimes a single basketball program inside of a conference can define the ebbs and flows of that conference throughout a season.  Charlotte’s 49ers, back in CUSA in the second year of their second run, show that philosophy.  For example, Rice lost a hard-fought 66-63 decision at North Texas last weekend.  Now as those two Texas teams came to Charlotte this weekend, the Niners scored 53 points in the second half on Thursday to pummel the Mean Green, 73-57.  Then, Saturday night, the Owls, who entered the week with an RPI of 337, shaded the 49ers, 73-68 in overtime.     You have heard us say this many times before; Bracketology 101 should be taught in classrooms all over America.  What could possibly be more important than a 20-something year old kid learning the intricacies of college basketball and accurately placing the teams into the NCAA Tournament field?  We digress.
